Before the Charge

July 4, 2008 · 1 Comment

As I sit here on my last night in Ptown for quite a while, I can’t help but get excited for my South African semester.  Of course, I haven’t started packing yet because everyone knows that having a good trip blog is much more important than actually having a good trip.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who gave me seven amazing weeks this summer, especially my family and friends here at home.  The closer my departure arrives, the more I realize how many beautiful relationships God has blessed me with.

Well, that’s all I have time for now because I do eventually have to pack.  I will be heading down to Brookfield tomorrow and watching some good old American fireworks.  Lord willing, I will be flying out of O’Hare International Airport at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 5.  From there, it’s on to Detroit, Amsterdam, and then finally Capetown.  While I hopefully will be spending less time on the Internet in South Africa than I do here, I hope to regularly update this blog with my adventures as well as my misguided theological, political, and philosophical musings.

Best wishes until we meet again and God bless!

Best of luck Andy. We are proud of you and will keep you in our prayers and thoughts. What a wonderful way for you to celebrate the 4th of July holiday – a day that we celebrate our country but in this day and age we are part of a growing and changing world. This trip and the education you receive will make you a better person to serve our world.

Be checking in on your blog.
